Started liking Beast since Bad girl period (not fan), Stopped paying attention to them since their last comeback (숨), because I simply don't like groups that make their comebacks at the speed of light. I mean, I do not like the feeling that they're making use of the time they're still popular to earn as much as possible. Even if they do not have this intention I still feel so.
This time Beautiful is much better than 숨, at least they tried to change their concept to something cute instead of continuing to be 'Beasty' (as in, fierce and burly). Reminds me of their rookie period when they were still cute, relatively.
All the 3 songs are acceptable, but I do not quite like the choreography for 2nd song (네가 제일 좋아) and Beautiful. For the 2nd song the choreography is really ugly, I don't get how and why they twist their bodies around like, um. Looks not very appealing. And for Beautiful, the stage itself kind of disappointed me. Because I really like their MV (part 1), the outfits, concept and plot, and how they changed from pure dance MVs to something with storyline.
But the stage did not meet my expectations. The concept didn't change, still cute and adorable, but I don't like this kind of messy arrangements and formation. They have 6 people and when they stand at random places and do actions that (at least) look random, my eyes and brain can't take it. To me I prefer uniform actions, some parts can be creative or random, but most of the times they must be uniform, that gives me a better visual effect.
And it really irritated me to see someone centre-parting for the whole of Beautiful stage. I got influenced from kc and I totally think that looking at centre-partings is worse than middle-fingers. Kind of humiliates me. Okay that's pure personal opinion.
What's good about Beast is that even though they make their comebacks really fast, they sort of guaranteed their quality of music. From Bad girl to Mystery, Shock, Special and all the way to Beautiful, maybe 숨 is the only bad one. And it's the only song in Korean name, uh, Beast likes english a lot.
Just that they have not been creative enough, until they comeback with Beautiful. Now that they make this comeback, their fanbase is predicted to be expanded by 2 times, (I predicted that don't take it seriously). I'm trying to say that out of so many groups that debuted in 2009-2010, they're one of the few that really made it into the mainstream. And they're gonna be more and more popular in the future, for sure.
Since Bad Girl I alr thought that they could do it, quite a special group of boys. Kc, you have amazing insights, lol.
Anyway, I'm not a Beauty fyi.
And they seriously should change their fanclub name, speechlessly speechless.
